Supporting Widows and Girls Through Farming Initiatives

Supporting Widows and Girls Through Farming Initiatives

At Ebenezer Grace and Operation Lift Up, 40% of the women in our farming initiative are widows, a number that is steadily increasing each year. We currently provide support to 400 widows who are raising 601 children.

Our goal is to provide school supplies and uniforms for 300 girls.

Beyond assisting orphans, we are particularly concerned about the "poorest of the poor": children whose parents face severe hardships. These families often endure even more desperate circumstances due to factors such as parents' physical disabilities that prevent them from farming, and the burden of expensive, chronic illnesses that could have been prevented by vaccinations. Such challenges have led to profound poverty, making it nearly impossible for mothers to send their children, especially their daughters, to school.

For approximately $27 USD (20,000 CFA francs), we can provide a girl with a school uniform and essential supplies.

Women's Empowerment

A mother's major concern is to provide nutricious food and the basic needs of her children. There is inherent motivation.

A friend told me the story of helping a mother create a small business selling chewing gum in a local african market. She is now able to feed her childen and send them to school. She is changing their destiny and breaking the cycle of poverty in their lives. Her business was launched for $150.

Our goal is to help women start small businesses empowering them to change the lives of their families.

Solinyogobu Welcome Center

For many vulnerable children, nourishing food is a luxury. Solinyogobu Welcome Center steps in, providing the essential building blocks for a bright future – nutritious meals for babies and preschoolers at our welcome center. These little ones, most tragically abandoned, find not just a safe haven but also the care they need to thrive from birth to age 5.

Imagine the impact: A caring family from Mississippi, miles away, ensures these children have rice on their plates every month.

But we need your help.  Your contribution, no matter the size, can help us offer a complete balanced diet for these youngsters.  Every dollar fuels their growth, both physically and mentally.

Maternity Center

Save a life. Equip a maternity unit in Solinyogobu.

The community of Solinyogobu faces a tragic problem. With no adequate health facilities nearby, expectant mothers must travel a great distance for care. This often-impossible journey leads to tragic complications and a heartbreaking loss of life. In fact, seven children were recently orphaned due to this crisis.

You can change this.

Your support will help us build a fully equipped maternity unit at the local health center, providing:

  • Essential prenatal care for expectant mothers.
  • Safe delivery rooms for a secure childbirth.
  • Crucial postnatal care for both mother and child.

An investment here will not just expand a building; it will save lives and create healthier futures for families in Solinyogobu.
